Origins and Development of Classical Music in Faces
摘要
One of the integral parts of human history is the history of music, and the intellectual spirit of society largely depends on its perception. Entire fields within musicology are devoted to researching the history of music. Most of the works are encyclopedic in nature and, as a rule, incredibly voluminous. Studying them may seem like a daunting task. Sometimes very specific issues are studied in detail. This work (Abdyssagin 2021, pp. 6–24) fills the need for a brief and clear presentation of the history of the development of Western European music from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the twentieth century. There is an opinion that the whole history of mankind is based on biographies of great people (the ‘great men theory’). This chapter serves as an introduction dedicated to an extensive topic of the development of new music. By following some milestones in the history of music we will be able to open doors to an unknown world filled with wonders and delights of contemporary music.
