摘要

Apart from the traditional tonal system and harmony as well as the twelve-tone technique, another major approach to systematising interrelations between pitches is what Italian composers call campo armonico—the harmonic field (Abdyssagin 2020). On the one hand, it is a rather vague and wide definition of techniques and conceptions about the formal language of systematising pitches. On the other hand, the harmonic field is a powerful tool for designating and determining dominant features or even forces within a specific group of tones. However, while groups of tones are mentioned for convenience of description, a harmonic field is not so much concerned with the tones themselves but rather with phenomena embodied and emitted by interrelations between the tones of a group. Hence the prime hallmarks of harmonic fields are radiated and absorbed by almost intangible musical links or sets of interrelations between tones or groups/clusters of tones.
