Pauli Exclusion Principle and Schoenberg’s Dodecaphony
摘要
According to the exclusion principle formulated by Wolfgang Pauli, in one quantum state there can be no more than one fermion. Distantly analogous to this, in music, the dodecaphonic principle of series (tone rows) forbids the existence of the same note (i.e. the same note/pitch repeated in different octaves and/or under other circumstances counts as identical; a pitch class) within the same series (tone row).
