The Evaluation of English Teaching Mode in the Context of Big Data

The English curriculum of basic education in China is undergoing major changes. Its guiding principle is to focus on the quality education of students’ all-round development. Its core is to emphasize people-oriented, focus on cultivating students’ practical ability and innovation spirit, and lay a foundation for lifelong learning and development of learners. The teaching principle emphasizes student centered, developing students’ comprehensive language application ability, respecting students’ personality and emotion, and actively using learning strategies to complete learning tasks. This puts forward high requirements for the selection and reform of English classroom teaching and English teaching methods. At the same time, higher requirements are put forward for English teaching evaluation. However, there are still many drawbacks in the current evaluation of English teaching. Therefore, we must first understand the connotation, main content and significance of English teaching evaluation. In addition, the current teaching methods are analyzed, compared and evaluated.
