摘要

Counterterrorism and cybersecurity are the top two priorities at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The FBI dated back to 1908 when Attorney General Charles Joseph Bonaparte issued an Order creating an investigative agency within the Department of Justice. In 1909, Attorney General George W. Wickersham ordered the establishment of the Bureau of Investigation (BOI). In 1935, the U.S. Congress designated the name Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to the agency. J. Edgar Hoover served as the final Director of the BOI from 1924 to 1935 and the first Director of the FBI from 1935 to 1972.
