摘要

Mental health and nutrition are closely linked, with research indicating that poor nutrition can lead to mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Lifestyle interventions that focus on improving diet and nutrition have been shown to have a positive impact on mental health outcomes. This chapter explores the connection between mental health and nutrition and the impact of a plant-predominant eating pattern on mental health outcomes. Further research is needed to identify the specific dietary and lifestyle changes that are most effective for different mental health conditions and to determine the long-term effectiveness of these interventions. However, increased consumption of plant foods has been linked with better health outcomes. The integration of lifestyle interventions, such as dietary counseling, into mental health treatment plans has the potential to significantly improve outcomes for individuals with mental health conditions. This field of study contains a radical potential for low-cost and high-yield impact on an area that directly intervenes in one of the key crises of our times: mental health.
