This paper explores the convergence of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) and performance art, emphasizing its potential as a scalable dimension of exaptation. The instrument of the exploration that informs the methodology is the Floating Acrobats installation, created by the authors of this paper as an emblematic practice-based research case study.
