Is a Picture Worth a Thousand Words? Comparative Evaluation of Generative AI for Drawing and Representation
摘要
Generative Artificial Intelligence defines machine learning and deep learning technologies capable of creating new content based on prior data. Today, the application domains of these tools range from obtaining text, images, and videos to musical motif creation from simple textual input. The possibilities of real or imaginary elements’ representation expressed by these computer systems trigger the debate on the possible implications and evolution of drawing and representation discipline. The paper analyses the most widely used image-generative intelligence in search of common patterns and potential differences. The aim is to define a use protocol that, starting with a fundamental analysis of the operating principles, outlines a theory of informed use in drawing, design and research purposes.
