The Former Monastery of Saints Severino and Sossio: An Example of an Immersive Reality for the Dissemination of Cultural Heritage
摘要
The theme is the building complex of the Grande Archivio of Naples, the former monastery of S. S Severino and Sossio (Fig. 1), which has undergone modifications and restoration and structural consolidation interventions over the centuries. Prestigious building and nerve center for changes to the city’s urban layout, today it is opening its doors not only to a specialized public, but to a more general and tourist one, in line with the new trend of making those artefacts known to the general public. Previously intended only for scholars and which today appear introverted with respect to the place in which they arise. The project exploits the field of digital humanities to describe the changes in the city and its places. Representation, in this type of work, has a key role and is intended not only as a means of documenting and communicating an architecture, but also as a tool for digitization and data management.
