Emerging Contaminants and Ways to Reduce It

Emerging pollutants are ended up in environment due to the modernization of livelihood and its arising concerns globally owing to their ill effects. Emerging pollutants are the target of many research and environmentalists for removal and degradation from environment. There are numerous techniques available for managing emerging pollutants such as photocatalysis, advanced oxidation processes, algae-based systems, biological remediation, adsorption, etc. Existence of multiple emerging contaminants also arising concerns towards efficiency of the process. However, owing to the complexity of emerging contaminants, new design and hybrid techniques are needed for achieving sustainability in the process. The mechanism involved in degradation, challenges in removal all needs to be addressed in near future.
