Experiences on Use of State Estimator in ERCOT Operations

State Estimator (SE) is an important application function in the control center at ERCOT. The performance of the state estimator is very important for grid operations and is monitored on a real-time basis. The results of the state estimator are also useful for other applications such as real-time contingency analysis, market systems, etc. This chapter explains the use of the state estimator at ERCOT and discusses various aspects of using the state estimator in grid operations at ERCOT.
