Disability, Inclusion, Service Provision, Policy and Legislation
摘要
Although perspectives of disability have evolved and the provision of Assistive Technology (AT) has advanced over time, individuals with disabilities still encounter barriers to full participation. Challenges persist in key aspects of AT provision, including development and production, availability, affordability, information, training, and use. There appears to be a gap between legislation that mandate access to AT and full participation and the actual implementation in practice. This Special Thematic Session seeks to bring together researchers, policymakers, AT developers, service providers, and individuals with disabilities to engage in constructive dialogue, reflection, and the identification of challenges and opportunities related to inclusion and AT provision. By doing so, the session aims to promote equal participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of society.
