Bacterial Toxins and Cancer
摘要
Cancer is one of the top causes of human death globally. Some pathogenic bacteria have the ability to secrete toxins that proceed to inhibit the immune system or modify specific proteins of the infected organism. They block secretion and production of antibodies or cytokines, and hence disable the host system. The chapter reviewed the key roles of toxins in the development of cancer; thus, introduction to cancers generally and much focus on bacteria toxin related cancers. Then the mechanism of bacteria toxins in cancer formation, types of bacterial toxins in cancer formation were discussed. Finally, the types of cancers that are related to micro toxins, their diagnosis, prevention and management were highlighted.
