Evaluating the Effectiveness of an AI Model with Transfer of Learning in the Educational Attendance Record

This paper presents a proposal for the development of a web application that applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and transfer of learning to improve the roll call process in school classrooms. The final application is based on a system for facial recognition that uses a proprietary database for student identification. In addition, all photos used in the process are considered to have the necessary concessions and rights for this purpose. The implementation of AI algorithms and the creation of a customized database allow us to simplify and streamline attendance registration in an efficient and accurate way. The results obtained with the proposal developed in this study show an acceptable performance since the proper recognition of people individually, housed within the database, is achieved, which confirms the validity of this innovative solution. This proposal highlights the potential of AI in the optimization of administrative tasks in the educational system, offering an innovative solution to facilitate the process of roll call in classrooms, step by step. Finally, it is important to note that, although the work was developed for the educational system, it can be extended to any type of sector that requires keeping an accurate record of people’s attendance.
