摘要

The quality of water consumed has impact on cardiovascular health. Implications of water quality in cardiovascular diseasesCardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain understudied despite the diverse naturally occurring mineral contents. Apart from the well-known risk factors such as hypertensionHypertension, tobacco use, diabetesDiabetes, and hyperlipidemia, environmental pollution is another important risk factor for CVDs. Exposure to contaminants from water, especially heavy metalsHeavy metals, plastics, pesticidesPesticides, and residual components offer significant cardiovascular risk worldwide. This chapter throws insights into the implications of water contamination in cardiovascular health.
