Komemyiut: Pre-statehood and Historiographical National Enterprising

This chapter discusses the first attempts of historical writing and academic sociogenesis in the years prior to Israeli independence. It focuses on the experience of the “Jerusalem School” at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem which formalized the history of the Jewish people as a scientific subject in mandatory Palestine.
