Composition, Mediality, and the Akathistos Narratives
摘要
The joint study of the sung, the written, and the painted shows the potential for analyzing cultural expression across media. The Akathistos Hymn was an important part of discourses of identity and underwent dynamic transformations over time. Compositional processes and the use of different media shaped these narratives decisively. This concluding chapter synthesizes the main results from the preceding chapters, elucidating the potential embedded in this interdisciplinary approach and highlighting the various methodological foundations at play. Beginning with a summary of the ways in which media were differentiated and combined, the chapter then addresses spatial and temporal aspects, before turning to the hymn’s narratives. Furthermore, additional facets are explored, accompanied by illustrative examples possessing distinct characteristics, amplifying the significance of the presented results.
