Z-Source and Quasi-Z-Source Three-Phase Two-Level and Multilevel Inverters

摘要

To obtain inverter DC link voltage and output phase voltage higher than the DC source voltage, Z-source inverter (ZSI) and quasi-Z-source inverter (QZSI) were proposed. These types of Z-source and quasi-Z-source inverters permit shoot-through state during which the upper and lower switches in the same leg of any one or more phase of the inverter are turned on simultaneously. The higher the shoot-through time duration, the greater is the inverter output phase voltage and DC link voltage compared to DC source voltage. Models for Z-source (ZS) and quasi-Z-source (QZS) inverter using simple boost control (SBC), maximum boost control (MBC), third harmonic injection maximum boost control (THIMBC) and third harmonic injection maximum constant boost control (THIMCBC) are presented in Chap. 5 . Case studies are presented for SVM of a three-phase Z-source and quasi-Z-source inverter. Also presented are the models for three-phase Z-Source and quasi-Z-source five-level CHBI (FLCHBI) and that for neutral point-clamped (NPC) three-level inverter using SB control technique.
