摘要

Understanding anatomic geometry in a quantified way is critical to the development, delivery, and durability of therapies, especially in cases where there is mechanical interaction between the device and anatomy. Since anatomic variation can be large, advanced models such as statistical shape models can be very useful in representing a population of anatomies, and this technique is introduced first in the chapter. Several useful anatomic measurement case studies follow the SSM introduction.
