Neonatal resuscitation involves a stepwise and systemic approach toward resuscitation, care, and management of the newborn. It includes initial assessment, management and thermal control of the newborn, management of the umbilical cord after birth, assessment of breathing and circulation, and possibly respiratory and circulatory support to the neonate.
