Perinatal Depression

  • Ashley Beem

摘要

Postpartum blues occur usually after 2 weeks as pregnancy hormones stabilize. Perinatal depression is defined as major and minor depressive episodes that occur during pregnancy or in the first 12 months after delivery. The exact pathogenesis of postpartum depression is unknown. Multiple studies have found that the most common risk factor for the development of postpartum depression is a history of depression.
