Accidental Dural Puncture

Accidental dural puncture complicates approximately 1.5% of epidural procedures performed every year. Postdural puncture headache develops after 10% of accidental dural puncture with spinal needles and 60–80% of accidental dural punctures with epidural needles. Symptoms may include vertigo, headache worsening in the upright position, nausea, neck pain, changes in vision, and radicular symptoms in the arms.
