Uterotonics and Antifibrinolytics

The definition of postpartum hemorrhage is 1000 ml blood loss in the first 24 h after delivery regardless of the route of delivery. Uterine atony is responsible for 70–80% of postpartum hemorrhage. The most effective pharmacologic agent for uterine atony is oxytocin.
