Integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Inpatient Mental Health Settings
摘要
This chapter highlights important considerations for providing equitable mental health care to all youth in the inpatient setting. This chapter provides a broader context for the current disparities in youth mental health care for historically marginalized populations (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color [BIPOC] and sexual and gender minority [SGM] youth) by discussing the social determinants of youth mental health. The authors move from historical context to current data trends, utilizing a structural competency framework to inform recommendations for equitable inpatient youth mental health care.
