The Rapid Stabilization Pathway: An Innovative Approach to Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Care for Suicidal Adolescents

The Rapid Stabilization Pathway (RSP) is an inpatient, safety planning-based intervention which engages adolescent patients and families in intensive, focused therapy. Patients are safely discharged in a shorter time, thus increasing the provision of high-quality therapeutic crisis intervention while also expanding the availability of inpatient beds. Further, RSP provides evidence-supported, yet creative and flexible care to patients and their families.
