Logic Circuits

This chapter describes circuits for logic applications. These circuits are at the heart of modern information technology. The constant improvement required in their performance is key to the advancement of the digital age. The vast majority of today’s logic circuits are implemented using Field-Effect Transistors (FETs). This is expected to be the case for several years to come. As a result, and without any loss of generality regarding other FET families, this chapter will concentrate particularly on MOSFET-based implementations. It starts by categorizing the different logic circuit families. This is followed by detailed discussions regarding each logic circuit family, starting with Static logic and finishing with Dynamic logic.
