Speculations About Energy-Flow Structures in Nature and in Human Activities

  • John A. Whitehead

摘要

The division of energy flow for basic human needs is described for three social systems: two primitive societies and the United States in 1955. Energy used for food ranges from less than half the available energy in all systems. Energy used to get water is less than 5%. Little energy is used for religion. Estimates of the energy used for shelter vary.
