摘要

This work focuses on optimizing the extrusion process of an industrial company specializing in aluminium profile development. By creating a tailored mathematical model, based on real data provided by the company, the aim is to minimize waste. Specifically, a mixed-integer programming model addresses the scheduling of orders considering sequence-dependent setup times. Processing times for each order are known and therefore estimated from extrusion data. The results demonstrate a 6% reduction in total setup times compared to the First In First Out rule, currently employed by the company. Moreover, the proposed model ensures the minimum necessary die changes, potentially reducing waste generated during the extrusion process.
