摘要

This chapter describes the ways individuals harm the public and each other in the commission of environmental crimes in the United States. We explore 27 prosecutions where one or more individuals are prosecuted for committing environmental crimes against the public. We find these prosecutions result in injuries, evacuations, and even death. We mirror the flow of the previous two chapters, by exploring patterns in prosecutions over time and place, followed by an exploration of general themes in prosecutions over time, and then a discussion of sentencing and punishment patterns in these prosecutions.
