Classification of Industrial Enterprises and Technological Equipment

In this chapter, a general characterization of industrial enterprises is discussed. According to a typological classification that encompasses the main sectors of industrial production, industrial enterprises are divided into ten basic groups. The classification differentiates between industrial enterprises with continuous and discrete manufacturing cycles, as well as the equipment used in the technological process, which is categorized based on its purpose: universal, specialized, and general purpose.
