Using Virtual Machine in Changing Resources During Runtime for Adaptive Service Level Agreement

摘要

A formal written agreement recognized as the Service Level Agreement (SLA) aids in defining expectations, outlining obligations, and assisting in the communication between consumers and the service vendor. The nature of cloud computing is multi-tenant, heterogeneous, complicated, and large-scale; therefore, other types of agreements appeared in order to support the variable features of the cloud environment, like multiple distributed systems and multi-tenancy. Also, in order to handle and translate the expectations of user services, adaptive and dynamic service level agreements must constantly be elastic and flexible. This study tries to introduce a comparative study of the different types of agreements. Additionally, an adaptive agreement simulation was proposed using a virtual machine to study the possibility of changing resources during runtime where; it is crucial to the research to ensure the user can switch resources during runtime without having to abort and restart. By altering a tool’s code that acts as an intermediate point between the user’s computer and the main hosting machine so that an actual experiment was carried out on an actual scenario represented by virtual machines.
