Green Synthesis of Basil Loaded with ZnO NPs and Assessing It’s Anti-Cancer Activities on Hepatocellular (HEPG-2) and Colorectal (HCT-116)

Plant extracts loaded into metal oxides act as anti-cancer, anti-inflammation and anti-oxidant. Basil extract loaded on ZnO NPs (basil@ZnO NPs) was synthesized aracterized by UV-Vis., XPS, IR, XRD and TEM. The crystallite size is 29 ± 3 nm. Cytotoxicity determined by MTT of basil@ZnO NPs against HEPG-2 and HCT-116. Showed IC50 = 47.93 ± 2.8 and 63.14 ± 3.4 µg/ml, respectively. Basil@ZnO NPs exhibited anticancer activity against carcinoma cell cultures. The results were compared to doxorubicin (Dox).
