摘要

The corrosion protection of Al in 2 M HCl solutions utilized by environmentally eco-friendly green Solenostemma argel extract (SAE) was demonstrated by experimental methods such as chemical approaches (mass reduction) and electrochemical techniques (electrochemical impedance (EIS) and Tafel polarization examinations). The outputs indicate that Al in a 2 M HCl solution may be effectively prevented from corroding by using the SAE solution. The effectiveness of inhibition was reached at 91% at 300 ppm and 25 ℃. The adsorption of SAE is consistent with the Langmuir isotherm and was physically adsorbed on the surface of the Al. On the other hand, electrochemical results showed that SAE is an efficient inhibitor at 25 ℃. Polarization research exhibits that SAE acts as a mixed hindrance. With SAE, double layer capacity reduces, and charge transfer resistance rises in a solution of 2 M HCl. The outer part morphology of Al surfaces and the adsorption of hindrances on Al outer part can be checked by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). On the metal surface, a layer of adsorbed SAE was developed that shields it from acidic corrosion.
