摘要

Limiting greenhouse gas emissions is necessary to overcome obstacles to sustainable growth, particularly climate change hazards. Carbon risk is one of several emerging risks for cities associated with climate change. Carbon management requires a better understanding of greenhouse gases emissions to assess the degree of exposure and environmental responsibility. The carbon footprint is one of the most important indicators of climate change’s environmental sustainability. This review discusses the challenges of sustainable development, particularly climate change risks, and the need for carbon management. It highlights the impact of renewable energy, fossil fuel consumption, and individual activities on ecological footprints and carbon dioxide emissions. It emphasizes the importance of measuring carbon footprints and implementing strategies to reduce emissions. The review also highlights the role of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient practices in transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Furthermore, the review underscores the urgency of addressing climate change risks and the potential consequences of inaction. It stresses the need for global cooperation and policy interventions to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies, while also promoting sustainable consumption patterns. Ultimately, transitioning to a low-carbon economy is crucial for mitigating climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
