Comparing In-Game Purchasing Behavior Between Youth and Adult Gamers: Understanding Enjoyment Rates and Implications for Game Developers

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena is a current trend for online and social gamers. In-games purchase is no doubt a game changer for players in order to get to the top. Early in this paper we did some elaboration on existing in-games purchase tactics made by games developer. While various study has been done in analyzing factors persuading player to pay real money in games, this study tried to see how different youth and adult gamers spend in their games. Based from the gathered data, we saw differences especially in term of enjoyment rate and the comparison provided maybe significant in supporting future games developer in building next in-games purchasing strategies.
