Hepatic Tumors in Childhood

This chapter summarizes the epidemiology, clinicopathologic aspects, and recent advances of the molecular pathogenesis of the most common malignant and benign pediatric liver neoplasms. A special emphasis is placed on hepatoblastoma and recent advances in its molecular characterization, new potential biomarkers, and therapies, as they represent additional tools for a more effective diagnosis, prognostic categorization, and novel therapies.
