Internationalizing Supply Management

The fourth chapter places the discussion of supply management and market democracy in conversation with ongoing changes in international political economy. With free trade orthodoxy increasingly questioned, I explore the feasibility of implementing supply management policies given our changing global political and economic reality. In basing policy reform on what is taking place globally, I analyze how already-existing free trade agreements could be reformed to include more room for nation-states and movements to create and administer policy. My work in this chapter explores how changes in international political economy could be further pushed to promote revised supply management policies around the world.
