Cancer Induction by Microbial Metabolites and Toxins
摘要
Cancer is the second leading cause of human death globally, estimated to be responsible for one in six deaths. All the factors that affect cancer occurrence are not well known but include ionizing radiation, aging, and exposure to some chemicals, among others. There is evidence of cancer induction by microbial metabolites; however, more investigation is necessary to establish the carcinogenicity of each suspected microbial metabolite.
