摘要

In this chapter, a monopole antenna mounted on a finite circular ground plane is studied and analyzed by varying the radius of the circular ground plane. The characteristics of a monopole antenna such as reflection coefficient, resonance frequency, bandwidth, input impedance, radiation pattern, and directivity are compared with that of a monopole antenna on the infinite ground plane. Based on the analysis, an approximate design equation to calculate the resonant length of a monopole antenna mounted on finite ground plane for a given resonance frequency is proposed. Design equations are in good agreement with simulated results.
