Chemical Perspectives Regarding the Main Biotechnological Strategies for Developing Vaccines in Aquaculture
摘要
State-of-the-art technologies in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology and nanotechnology can make significant contributions to the management of fish health. These advanced biotechnological tools find applications in various aspects of fish health management, including quarantine protocols, diagnostics, immune-prophylaxis, use of probiotics, bioremediation and even chemotherapy. This innovative approach promises to improve efficiency and sustainability in the fish industry, helping to reduce disease incidence and increase fish production. Current advances in vaccines and vaccinology provide valuable opportunities to discover new vaccine candidates for combating fish pathogens. There are still steps to be taken in developing more suitable and economically accessible vaccination techniques for small fish.
