Optimizing Bioprinting Setting for Vascular Applications: A Post-printing Analysis

Controlling printing parameters in bioprinting procedures is crucial for producing successful biomimetic structures. Gelatin/gellan gum/alginate hydrogels are viable for creating vascular grafts due to their biocompatibility and structural stability during bioprinting procedures. This study examines the printability of these hydrogels to obtain vascular grafts. The results indicate that precise temperature distribution of custom hydrogel printing throughout the entire extrusion path is crucial in producing a well-defined graft. Therefore, modification of the standard bioprinter printhead and the addition of a nozzle tip temperature control system are required to ensure proper hydrogel extrusion.
