Nation-Wide Benchmarking of Healthcare Indicators: From Inferential Statistics to Dashboard Cards
摘要
This paper deals with the topic of using inferential statistics methods to create easy-to-read dashboard cards for displaying healthcare quality indicators (HQI) in various areas of healthcare. HQI can then be used for nation-wide benchmarking of healthcare providers. As an example, results of showing outcome measures of 30-day mortality in patients after ischemic stroke are shown here, transferring inferential statistics to traffic-light symbols. We further propose that pre-existing HQIs used elsewhere in the world be adopted preferentially if they are suitably presented and proven to be suitable and useful.
