Validation of the Anxiety Assessment Method Employing the g.TEC Unicorn Hybrid Black Alongside Psychological Testing

Human anxiety represents a significant and pressing mental health concern that necessitates meticulous attention and systematic intervention for the promotion of societal well-being. The present investigation endeavors to establish an objective framework for assessing human anxiety, harnessing both physiological electroencephalography (EEG) signals and established psychological testing measures. The EEG signals were captured employing the g.tec Unicorn Hybrid Black EEG system. At the same time, the assessment of anxiety levels was concurrently carried out through the utilization of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS) questionnaire. The study encompassed a cohort of thirty-nine subjects, each responding to the DASS questionnaire. Subsequently, EEG data underwent meticulous pre-processing procedures, primarily involving noise filtering techniques, to eliminate extraneous ocular and muscular artifacts. In the pursuit of optimal feature selection, a statistical analysis approach was employed to identify electrodes displaying significant differences in EEG activity patterns, a crucial step toward classifying human anxiety.
