Integration of Digital Twin Models with Systems Medicine for Eye Diseases

The application of Digital Twin technologies in Systems Medicine holds great promise. Digital Twin enables the generation of virtual models, real-time monitoring, analysis, and simulation. Digital Twin can facilitate the integration of genetic data and patient-specific information to create personalized models leading to the identification of pathologies and to the development of personalized treatment models. The authors propose an architectural framework for the application of Digital Twin related technologies in eye disease thus allowing for the development of new models that facilitate the identification of pathologies and the choice of optimal treatment solution.
