AnatomyLab – Web Application for Romanian Medical Students to Learn the Human Body Anatomy

Active learning is an educational approach that encourages students to interact with models and learn at their own pace. It seems that traditional slide-based course presentations decrease memory performance as students are not engaged in their learning, so visual learning aids are of great help. In learning anatomy of the human body apps providing 3D models completely eliminate the risks involved when working with cadavers, the legal issues or ethical concerns. Also, studies show that 3D models/imaging are very helpful in learning anatomy, offering to students the possibility to master their own exploration. The article presents a review of the most important and attractive 3D models apps for anatomy learning and proposes a web app available for Romanian medical students.
