Experience and Acceptance of AI, Expert Systems and Robots in Medical Fields

摘要

There are important and thought-provoking changes in medicine, and thus in medical education, towards an increasing use of artificially intelligent (AI), expert systems and robots due to the ever-growing body of medical knowledge and health data. In order to develop such AI systems for medical education, it is important to assess the acceptance of medical students and professors. Therefore, a literature search was conducted on popular platforms like PubMed, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate, which revealed the need for further research in this area. Some findings are that a majority of Lebanese medical students find AI more objective in an exam scenario and would like to be trained by humans and AI. Chinese medical students find it easier to make mistakes with AI chatbots than with humans. In other health-related fields, acceptance and appearance suggest that AI robots should have human-like gestures and eye movements to avoid the uncanny valley effect, although acceptance varies among older people.
