An Economic Approach to Precise Vein Detection and Visualization

While venipuncture is a common medical procedure, it often presents challenges related to accurate needle insertion and patient comfort. This paper introduces a low-cost device, designed to assist in determining the insertion point for venipunctures and providing a detailed visualization of the vein structure. The device, developed by combining straightforward algorithms with very affordable hardware components, aims to offer a practical solution for healthcare professionals. While other academic and commercial implementations do exist, the system provides a low cost and effective alternative to existing technologies, potentially making vein visualization more accessible in varied healthcare settings.
