Development of a Portable Heart Rate Monitoring Device

Over time, the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic and the prevalence of heart rate disorders have increased the need for remote monitoring. The most common method of monitoring the electrical activity of the heart and identifying irregular heart rates is electrocardiography (ECG). However, professional electrocardiographs are expensive and massive, making them unsuitable for household environments. Because portable ECGs are so much easier to use, this approach proposes a portable device that can monitor the heart rate in real time and display it in a mobile application. Additionally, the results will be compared to those obtained using different electrode placements and other methods of measurement, such as the Biopac system or Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
