Design of a Microstrip Triangular Patch Array at 5.8 GHz for Enhancing UAV Autonomy in IoT Applications
摘要
Research progresses, the potential of IoT-driven drones grows, paving the way for intelligent, adaptive, and interconnected aerial systems. Integrating IoT with drones offers a transformative paradigm, enabling real-time data exchange and decision-making. Drones can collect environmental data, perform adaptive maneuvers, and collaborate with other devices. However, managing drone battery autonomy is a real challenge, requiring careful optimization to maximize flight time while maintaining safe and reliable flight performance. Our approach is to use wireless energy transmission as an efficient and sustainable means of powering drones and aerial vehicles. Our work consists in building a wireless energy harvesting antenna array for remote recharging. The antenna array presented in this paper consists of four microstrip triangular patch antennas fed by a microstrip line. It operates at a resonant frequency of 5.8 GHz. The measured peak gain is 7.32 dBi.
