Follicle Dynamics in the Ovary Before Puberty

Before puberty, including part of the intrauterine life, ovulation mechanisms are not yet ready. They appear during puberty. Morphological aspects of follicle development are presented. Pertinent mechanisms of initial oocyte maturation are discussed in harmony with histological and endocrine events. Meiotic episodes are considered. There are a good number of figures in this chapter.
